Sutter to Spend $400M on IT Implementation in Next Four Years

Sutter Health, a 26-hospital system based in Sacramento, Calif., will accelerate implementation of its electronic health record system, spending $400 million over the next five years, according to the San Francisco Business Times.

Sutter slowed down implementation in late 2007, when the economy started to cool.

Sutter has already installed its EHR system in most of its physician offices and clinics, connecting more than 12,000 clinicians.
