Mr. Levy joins the direct-to-consumer telemedicine app from BuzzFeed; he joined the media company in 2014 as vice president of engineering before being named CTO in 2016. He is also the co-founder of link optimization service Bitly and Torando Labs, a consumer tech company that was acquired by BuzzFeed in 2014.
In an email announcement sent to employees and obtained by TechCrunch, Ro co-founder Saman Rahmanian praised Mr. Levy as “fluent in modern software architecture,” a “great team builder,” a strong mentor and a leader with the ability to scale the startup’s engineering team from 30 to 200 members.
