Pager traces its roots back to New York. The company has 40 physicians and nurses in the New York City area, according to the report. Patients select a visit type and provider will make a house call. The company recently began to work with payers, shifting away from operating entirely as an out-of-pocket business.

The $14 million in funding will bring the company’s services to San Francisco, and potentially beyond. Pager was founded last year by Oscar Salazar, an Uber co-founder and former CTO, along with entrepreneurs Gaspard de Dreuzy and Philip Eytan. Mr. de Dreuzy is now Pager’s CEO, while Mr. Eytan serves as president.

Pager’s telemedicine services could come to Los Angeles of Chicago next, according to the report.
