UPMC Washington (Pa.) has rolled out a new inpatient tele-neurosurgery consultation service.

As part of this service, UPMC neurosurgery specialists can connect with hospitalized patients with spine or intracranial conditions and work alongside their hospital care team at the patient’s bedside.

This service allows hospital teams to consult with advanced practice providers specializing in neurosurgery via video and doesn’t require patient transfers solely for consultation purposes, according to an April 27 news release.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
