Nationally, telehealth use declined 2% in October, after dropping 9.3% the month before, according to the analysis of claims data from privately insured and Medicare Advantage patients. That decrease was most pronounced in the South (5%), while the West experienced an increase of 4.7%.
Here are the top five telehealth diagnoses, according to the Jan. 9 report:
1. Mental health conditions: 67.1%
2. Acute respiratory diseases and infections: 2.9%
3. Joint/soft tissue diseases and issues: 1.5%
4. Hypertension: 1.4%
5. Endocrine and metabolic disorders: 1.3%
