The telehealth program, which SSM Health launched a “soft rollout” of in February, offers web-based virtual appointments for acute and nonurgent medical conditions. During a virtual visit, the patient can connect with an SSM Health nurse practitioner by video chat or phone call. If a patient requires a prescription medication, the clinician can send it directly to the patient’s preferred pharmacy.

The cost for a virtual visit is $25 per appointment, without insurance. Since rolling out the services in February, approximately 150 patients in the St. Louis region have accessed the program each month, according to the report.
