At present, Northwell Health has two main telehealth initiatives: an electronic intensive care unit and a telestroke program. Working with Avizia, the healthcare provider will expand these programs across its facilities, including 21 hospitals and more than 550 outpatient practices. Northwell Health will also extend its telemonitoring services for home-care patients.
As part of this partnership, Avizia also received a direct-equity investment from Northwell Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Northwell Health. This investment marks the completion of Avizia’s first round of financing, bringing its total Series A funding to $18 million.
