MUSC Health tapped Advanced ICU Care to help launch the virtual care services. Under the agreement, the telemedicine company’s clinicians will provide 24/7 virtual support and bedside assistance to help MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center’s physicians treat critically ill patients. The rollout is part of the organizations’ existing partnership, which has helped establish telemedicine ICU services at 10 hospitals in South Carolina as of March 3.
By implementing virtual care services, MUSC Health Lancaster can treat more patients within its own community without having to transfer them to a larger facility.
“With the ability to care for more high-acuity patients with state-of-the-art technology as well as expert tele-specialists, our patients stand to benefit from both an improved care experience and improved clinical outcomes,” said Brian Greig, RN, CNO of the MUSC Health – Lancaster System, according to news release.
MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center is a 225-bed hospital, which comprises more than 120 physicians and care team members.
