MediSprout linked its V2MD telehealth platform, which connects physicians and patients through video conferencing, with Amazon’s artificial intelligence-powered voice assistant Alexa, Digital Journal reports.

Patients can now use Alexa to schedule virtual health appointments with MediSprout. Through the integration, Alexa syncs with V2MD to gather a physician’s available days and times. The patient can then select an appointment that works best for them, and the platform automatically adds the appointment to the patient’s and physician’s calendars.

Additionally, MediSprout has teamed up with French consumer electronics company Withings to integrate with its home monitoring blood pressure cuff.

The Withings Wireless Blood Pressure Monitor connects with V2MD’s web interface, and is equipped with a downloadable app. A patient can register for a V2MD account to connect with their existing physicians on the app, through which they can select measurements they wish to share. That way, physicians can view data such as blood pressure prior to and during a V2MD video visit.

“Connecting with V2MD by MediSprout makes it quick and easy for them to take readings and share critical information through video conference, enabling their doctors to provide immediate guidance and continued care, which has been clinically proven in multiple studies to improve patient outcomes,” Alexis Normand, vice president of healthcare for Withings, told Digital Journal.
