A bipartisan group of lawmakers is introducing the “Telehealth Expansion Act of 2023,” a bill that, if enacted, would allow people with health savings accounts and high-deductible health plans to permanently access telehealth.

The bill’s six sponsors are Reps. Michelle Steel, R-Calif.; Susie Lee, D-Nev.; Adrian Smith, R-Neb.; and Brad Schneider, D-Ill.; and Sens. Steve Daines, R-Mont., and Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev.

The bill would extend the COVID-19-era telehealth flexibility waiver established in March 2020.
