HealthOne will provide the virtual care services through its virtual network and Colorado Canyons Hospital will implement a mobile, telehealth cart equipped with a camera, microphone, monitor and computer.

The telehealth equipment will allow Colorado Canyons Hospital physicians and patients to virtually connect with HealthOne neurologists and psychiatrists.

“Having this state-of-the-art telemedicine program puts the stroke specialist instantly in the room with a patient and [emergency room] physician,” said Chris Fanale, MD, who developed HealthOne’s telehealth stroke program, according to the report. “As a stroke neurologist, I can have a conversation with the patient and family, examine the patient’s ability to move and speak and even zoom in to assess pupil reactivity.”
