AbleTo aims to connects patients to behavioral health therapists via phone or video on a weekly basis, while Joyable serves as a digital platform where patients work with trained coaches via phone, text or email.
“Joyable was founded on the idea that everyone should be able to access high-quality behavioral healthcare,” Joyable Co-founder and CEO Peter Shalek said in a news release. “Joining AbleTo will allow us to expand our mission with a team that shares the same goal.”
More than 50 percent of people living with behavioral health conditions do not get proper treatment, according to Mental Health America. Through the acquisition, AbleTo and Joyable will combine their cognitive behavioral therapy services to treat mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety.
