Teladoc CEO named ‘Digital Healthcare Innovator of the Year’: 4 things to know

Healthegy, an organization focused on healthcare innovation, has named Teladoc CEO Jason Gorevic its “Digital Healthcare Innovator of the Year.”

Here are four things to know.

1.  Mr. Gorevic is the first recipient of the Digital Healthcare Innovator of the Year award. He will receive the award at Healthegy’s Digital Healthcare Innovation Summit in Boston on Nov. 3.

2. “After five years of producing this summit, we decided to use it as a platform to recognize an individual for outstanding contributions to the digital health marketplace. Jason Gorevic stood out among several candidates for his work in bringing telehealth into the mainstream,” said Craig Simak, managing director of Healthegy.

3. Teladoc went public in July 2015. The company was the first telemedicine provider to reach 1 million telemedicine visits.

4. “I’m honored, on behalf of the entire Teladoc team, to receive this recognition. This award underscores our commitment to bridging the gap in healthcare access by putting more people in a position to access high-quality care on their terms — when, where and however they want,” Mr. Gorevic said.
