Survey: 9 types of technology consumers say will impact on people's health

Almost 50 percent of healthcare consumers believe industry-wide innovation will lead to better treatment and diagnoses in the next five years, according to the 2017 Klick Health Consumer Survey on Healthcare Innovation.

The survey polled 1,012 randomly selected U.S. adults between May 19 and May 21.

When asked what kinds of technology will likely have the biggest impact on people's health in the next five years, respondents reported the following.

●    Health and fitness wearables: 21 percent
●    3-D printing: 10 percent
●    Virtual reality: 6 percent
●    Augmented reality: 2 percent
●    Voice-controlled devices: 4 percent
●    Smart home devices 9 percent
●    Artificial intelligence: 9 percent
●    Mobile apps: 8 percent
●    Robotics: 15 percent

Fourteen percent of respondents said that none of these will impact on people's health in the next five years, and 3 percent selected the "other" option.
