Cynthia L. Beamer, MD, a pediatric emergency physician in Texas, won in the physician category for her Rounder app, which is designed to help physicians capture data on hospital patients and track their progress.
Michael Ray Bykhovsky, a medical student at Georgia Health Science University, won in the resident/fellow/medical student category for his JAMA Clinical Challenge app, which provides clinical vignettes, images and medical case information as an educational tool.
Dr. Beamer and Mr. Bykhovsky each received $2,500 in cash and prizes and a trip for two to New Orleans for the announcement of their winning ideas at AMA’s semi-annual policy-making meeting.
