The Surgeon General’s Healthy App Challenge is seeking apps on fitness/physical activity, nutrition/healthy eating and integrative health, which focuses on integrating healthy sleep habits, mental/spiritual health and other aspects of wellness.
The apps should complement and enhance two parts of the surgeon general’s public health agenda: the surgeon general’s “Vision for a Healthy and Fit Nation,” which aims to fight the obesity epidemic, and the “National Prevention Strategy,” which aims to shift the country to a healthcare system based on wellness and prevention.
