Researchers studied data of more than 5 million patients at least 18 years old who were treated at 550 hospitals. They found patients treated in hospitals with advanced EHRs cost 9.66 percent, or $731, less to treat than patients admitted to hospitals without advanced EHRs.
Researchers suggest hospitals using advanced EHRs have a lower cost-per-patient.
