The “Point of Care Communications for Physicians” report interviewed just over 100 physicians working in acute care and ambulatory environments across the country. Forty-four percent of participating physicians preferred the Apple iPhone, while 25 percent chose to use the RIM BlackBerry.
The study also found that despite high levels of smartphone use, 78 percent of physicians interviewed have trouble communicating with colleagues in a timely manner.
