St. Luke’s HIE, eVantageHealth, will be connected with other HIEs and the state network through the new partnership. The necessary technology and governance structure will be put into place by the first quarter of 2014.
“St. Luke’s is playing a key leadership role in the state’s objectives to further enable the sharing of electronic health information in the commonwealth,” said Alix Goss, Pennslyvania Health IT Coordinator, in a news release. “Extending their active participation in the statewide effort by agreeing to be a pilot and connecting to the shared services network, eVantageHealth is helping to pave the way for other organizations to enhance the healthcare delivery system for patients.”
A similar pilot will be conducted at Lehigh Valley, also with the goal of facilitating data exchange to improve care delivery in the state.
