Using Box, St. Joseph Health has created a centralized content management platform for physicians to share and update patient records. This platform is secured through MobileIron, a security service the health system has deployed on arounds 4,500 devices. MobileIron says that its security solution adheres to HIPAA compliance requirements, in part by encrypting data in transit to ensure confidentiality.

To address the issue of employee-owned devices, which account for roughly 800 of the 4,500 devices, MobileIron separates an employee’s personal and business apps. MobileIron says this separation allows users to continue to access personal apps without putting patient data at risk.
