The project will gather data from tens of millions of consented and de-identified volunteers, ensuring broad representation across ancestries, ethnicities, genders and other social factors that influence health, according to a Jan. 13 news release. The resulting database is expected to be more than 10 times larger than previous genetic research efforts, enabling groundbreaking insights into how genetics shape health outcomes.
In partnership with Regeneron Genetics Center, Truveta and its member health systems will sequence genetic data from the first 10 million participants. Microsoft Azure will provide exclusive cloud support for the project.
Truveta, a collaboration of 30 health systems, aims to advance personalized medicine and improve health equity through data-driven research.
