Sinai Hospital of Baltimore 1st in Maryland to employ PeraHealth's predictive analytics solutions

Sinai Hospital of Baltimore has partnered with Charlotte, N.C.-based PeraHealth to enhance its predictive analytics — the first hospital to do so in the state.

The hospital will deploy PeraHealth's clinical surveillance solutions, PeraAnalytics and PeraTrend, to better serve their patient population. The solutions leverage data from the hospital's EHR and are powered by the Rothman Index, a graphically displayed score that care providers can use to detect patient problems in advance using predictive analytics.

The solutions will help the hospital's providers remotely monitor patients across multiple care settings, improve documentation accuracy and enhance capacity management.

"We believe the concept of predictive analytics to alert clinicians to potential or likely complications, allowing for earlier intervention, will be a valuable resource for our healthcare providers and potentially a lifesaver for patients," said Jaime Barnes, DO, chief of the division of critical care medicine at Baltimore-based LifeBridge Health, the parent of Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.
