The HIPAA-secured platform is available to both new and expecting parents and their providers. The online dashboard links the health data of both mother and baby, monitors them before, during and after the birth, and immediately flags any potential issues to providers.
The latest funding infusion will help Mahmee expand its team of clinicians, engineers and sales staff, who support the company’s partnerships with hospitals and health systems. To date, Mahmee’s network includes 1,000 providers and organizations, including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, AltaMed, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, UCLA and more.
“Given the bleak data surrounding maternal death and injury rates, I believe that it is absolutely critical right now to invest in solutions that help protect the lives of moms and babies. Mahmee’s data-driven approach is the right solution to one of the most significant problems in the system: that of fragmented care,” said Ms. Williams, who has previously described the life-threatening complications she experienced after giving birth to her daughter in 2017.
