Risant Health to invest in next-generation analytics, augmented intelligence

Risant Health, the new nonprofit organization created by Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, plans to scale up its investment in next-generation analytics and augmented intelligence, according to a July 21 episode of the American Medical Association's podcast "AMA Update."

Jaewon Ryu, MD, president and CEO of Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health, the first system to join Risant, said the new model will "scale up next-generation analytics and augmented intelligence programs, as well as digital tools and technologies."

Dr. Ryu said these types of technologies will be essential in helping physicians and care teams "identify populations that need targeted programs or develop consumer-oriented insights and tools."

"Being able to have all of those capabilities, bring them to bear to continue to innovate and deliver greater value — but still being able to partner with others to do so — we think that's the right answer for our communities," Dr. Ryu told the AMA.

He also said the acquisition has excited physicians as they look forward to bringing these innovations to the next level.
