The company’s proprietary algorithm assesses health insurance options and provides users with rankings based on their responses to questions about health status and risk tolerance, among other things.
A July press release following the company’s initial funding round touts Picwell’s technology as the first of its kind, accounting for more than 900,000 variables that impact health insurance plan selection. The company has not issued a statement regarding its intentions for the newly secured capital, but said its initial funding round would be dedicated to expanding operations and accelerating the development of decision support products for consumers.
