Population health, analytics top reasons for switching EHRs

While product and vendor loyalty among primary care practices is on the rise, those who are seeking to switch their EHR vendors are looking for more population health and analytics offerings, according to a Black Book Rankings survey.

From the fourth quarter of 2015 to the second quarter of 2015, the primary care market segment has been one of the fastest growing for EHR implementations, according to the survey. Now, 94 percent of all primary care practices with more than six providers are using, implementing or selecting a system.

Eighty-four percent of such primary care practices said they are in the process of replacing their EHR and are seeking solutions with population health tools and analytics.
