Philips updates Xplore data management platform

Royal Philips upgraded its Xplore application, a web-based informatics platform that aims to accelerate drug research for personalized medicine.

Xplore, an integrated research application, allows pharmaceutical and academic researchers to manage and analyze clinical, image, molecular and genomic data. Using data mining and visualization tools, researchers can integrate information from disparate sources and search for disease-specific biomarkers.

"Delivering on the promise of personalized medicine means that multiple data sources need to be integrated and analyzed," said Russ Granzow, general manager of Philips Digital Pathology Solutions. "Computational pathology research tools will be essential to move forward in our increasingly complex medical and research environment."
