Ms. Marchesini previously served as a senior advisor and deputy director for privacy at ONC. She has also worked with the National Institutes of Health and other federal agencies to provide strategic direction. She has spent seven years at HHS, where in 2014 she served as acting chief privacy officer of the ONC.
Prior to HHS, Ms. Marchesini worked as a strategy and technology consultant at two global management consulting firms.
Ms. Marchesini holds a juris doctor degree from Chapel Hill-based University of North Carolina School of Law. She also holds a professional certificate in strategic decision and risk management in healthcare from Stanford (Calif.) University.

Rucker, MD, the ONC’s national coordinator, wrote in an email. “She brings to her new role a wealth of experience as a senior advisor and deputy director for privacy at ONC where she advised staff and stakeholders about privacy and security implications surrounding electronic health information, technology and health research.”
