ONC Challenges Developers to Create App for Improving Heart Health

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology has launched the "Be One in a Million Hearts" Challenge as part of HHS' Million Hearts Initiative, according to a Health IT Buzz report.

ONC's challenge, developed in partnership with Health 2.0 under the Investing in Innovation Initiative, aims for developers to create an application engaging consumers in improving their own cardiovascular health.

ONC and Health 2.0 are looking for applications that provide information about the Million Hearts Initiative; allow patients to enter relevant information about their health; generate targeted recommendations; link to online communities dedicated to improving heart health; and send patient information to electronic health records, according to a Health 2.0 report.
