NTT Data buys health IT consulting company

NTT Data Services, a technology services provider, acquired the consulting division of Cognosante, a health IT services provider for federal and state health agencies.

Cognosante Consulting assists state agencies undergoing Medicaid and human services IT and business program transformations. Through the acquisition, NTT Data will add more than 250 consulting resources. The new consulting practice will focus on client IT strategy, project management and quality assurance, among other topics.

“The acquisition of Cognosante’s consulting practice immediately establishes us as a leader in a growing health and human services market and enhances the value we can deliver to our clients in the public sector and healthcare,” NTT Data Services CEO Bob Pryor said in a news release.
