Through the deal, Glooko will have access to Novo Nordisk’s customer base and educational content, while Novo Nordisk will utilize and build on Glooko’s technology platform. Additionally, Novo Nordisk can use Glooko to integrate diabetes information into EHRs.

“The vision is to leverage data to drive better and faster decisions to help patients and their caregivers get to better outcomes,” Glooko CEO Rick Altinger told MedCity News.

Mr. Altinger said the companies are “looking into” implementing a digital component in Novo Nordisk’s Novo Echo smart insulin pen and that each new product they create will offer “personalized support” to diabetic patients.
