The multiyear collaboration will focus on Novartis Insight Centers, which provide real-time data insights of manufacturing operations and distribution centers across its network. Leveraging AWS, Novartis can collect inventory, quality and production data across its network and apply the cloud platform’s Internet of Things, analytics and machine learning services to improve efficiencies.
By centralizing its Insight Centers’ data on AWS, Novartis data scientists can also experiment with new optimization models and increase the production of personalized, more complex treatments.
Novartis will also use AWS’ IoT services to enhance visual inspections of its manufacturing sites; the pharmaceutical company will be able to generate images that can be analyzed using computer vision algorithms to monitor risk to manufacturing production such as delayed orders or unplanned downtime.
