Northwell Health, American Well CEOs honored by New York eHealth Collaborative

Michael Dowling, president and CEO of New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health, was one of four honorees at the New York eHealth Collaborative's gala and awards event in New York City Nov. 27.

NYeC is a nonprofit that coordinates New York's statewide health information exchange. Its annual gala and awards event, now in its seventh year, honors leaders whose "vision and extraordinary accomplishments have transformed healthcare across New York state and beyond," with an emphasis on those who have improved healthcare through the use of technology.

"In their work with patients and providers across the continuum, these individuals intricately understand how technology is improving healthcare today and how it can solve so many issues on the horizon," said NYeC Executive Director Valerie Grey.

Mr. Dowling received NYeC's "transformative leadership award" for his work guiding clinical care, innovation and research at Northwell Health.

Linda Lambert, executive director of the New York state chapter of the American College of Physicians, was also recognized for her more than 40-year career representing and advocating for quality and improvement, along with patient safety, on behalf of the state's physicians.

American Well co-founders and co-CEOs Ido Schoenberg, MD, and Roy Schoenberg, MD, were also honored for their track record of leading health technology companies and their work to fuel telehealth adoption.
