Breach victims are encouraged to call the state DHHS’ hotline at 888-901-4999 and press 3 to speak with a representative.
“DHHS is very concerned about residents experiencing long wait times when attempting to reach a representative on the toll-free phone number or receiving a return call in response to a message,” said New Hampshire DHHS Commissioner Jeffrey Meyers in a statement. “Our main priority is to be responsive to those who have been potentially impacted.”
Mr. Meyers added that the state DHHS is examining the call volume and potential ways to expand coverage.
In October 2015, a former psychiatric patient at Concord-based New Hampshire Hospital accessed the private information of up to 15,000 people on a computer in the hospital’s library. Hospital staff found the information, which pertained to clients of the state DHHS, posted on social media more than one year later.
