Newly formed health collaborative to implement Cerner's EHR

Asquam Community Health Collaborative, a newly formed limited liability corporation, has selected Cerner to provide its EHR.

The Asquam collaborative is comprised of LRGHealthcare, which includes Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, N.H., and Franklin (N.H.) Regional Hospital, and Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, N.H. The collaborative, which is headquarterted in Laconia, N.H., seeks to improve the health and care of the communities it serves.

Currently the systems use multiple health information systems, but will transition to Cerner's full suite of software solutions.

"Currently we have to separate EHR platforms at Speare for the hospital and our practices," said Michelle McEwen, president and CEO of Speare Memorial Hospital. "As the two systems do not 'talk to one another,' data transfer from one system to another is quite cumbersome. The new EHR system will be one clinically integrated system, allowing for easier referrals and information sharing from the emergency room to primary care and specialty care."
