New York supreme court judge reportedly loses $1M in email scam

Acting New York State Supreme Court Justice Lori Sattler reportedly lost more than $1 million while attempting to sell her apartment, according to New York Daily News.

Ms. Sattler wired $1,057,500 to a bank account after receiving an email she thought was sent by her real estate lawyer, sources told New York Daily News. However, the money allegedly ended up at a Commerce Bank of China account.

New York Office of Court Administration spokesman Lucian Chalfen declined New York Daily News' request for comment due to the pending investigation.
