The CSI Genomics Research Facility will allow faculty and students to conduct genome sequencing and analysis, specifically genetic variations that may cause the development or progression of diseases and conditions such as cancer, drug addiction and autism. The center is expected to open in July 2021.
The facility is supported by $1.25 million in funding from Staten Island City Council. CSI has also developed other projects through previous City Council funding, including the CSI Tech Incubator in support of technology startup companies and the CUNY High Performance Computing Center.
