The NH-HIO aims to create a system for securely transmitting personal health information to will help healthcare providers coordinate patient care and reduce administrative costs. The organization will operate as a private, non-profit corporation.
New Hampshire had planned the HIO for several years, with the support of the Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative and NH Institute for Health Policy and Practice at the University of New Hampshire.
