Georgia Public Health Commissioner Wants Telemedicine Clinics Statewide

Georgia’s public health commissioner has announced her plans to launch telemedicine clinics in every public health center statewide if grant money allows for it, according to a report by The Telegraph.

By the end of 2012, all county health departments were wired for teleconferencing. Brenda Fitzgerald, MD, the public health commissioner, says her next step will be to set up telemedicine carts with cameras, computers and sensors that can beam a patient’s status to specialists elsewhere.
