Mississippi hospital CIO wins national IT leadership award

A Mississippi hospital CIO recently earned a national honor for his IT leadership.

Carl Smith, CIO of King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, won in the medium business division category at the Info-Tech Research Group CIO Awards. The organization said it picks winners using a “comprehensive survey tool that measures business stakeholder satisfaction and feedback on IT services within an organization.”

Mr. Smith has been at the hospital since 1994. He previously worked in IT for George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
