Missing Laptop at Michigan Hospital Contained Information of Nearly 2K Patients

Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Mich., has reported a laptop, which contained the names and birth dates of roughly 2,000 patients, went missing, according to a Flint Journal report.

Hospital officials discovered the laptop was gone in mid-May and may have been stolen, the report said. The laptop did not, however, include Social Security numbers or addresses.

All affected patients have been notified via mail and have been offered a year of free credit reports.
