MEDNAX to acquire radiology, telemedicine company vRad for $500M

National medical group MEDNAX has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Virtual Radiologic Corporation for $500 million.

vRad offers radiology physician and telemedicine services. The company generates approximately $185 million in annual revenue through a network for more than 350 radiologists. The company also provides services to more than 2,100 healthcare facilities.  

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of this year.
