The CommonWell Health Alliance — which aims to enhance interoperability in healthcare — developed a vendor-neutral platform that enables healthcare providers to exchange patient data nationwide. The alliance was founded by several other IT vendors, including Allscripts, athenahealth and Cerner.
Meditech, a member of the collaboration, will connect its customers to the CommonWell Health Alliance network. The alliance’s interoperability services are already deployed at more than 5,000 provider sites across the U.S.
“CommonWell is excited to work with Meditech and other members as we continue to strive towards a reality in which there are no gaps in access and availability of patient data,” said Jitin Asnaani, executive director of CommonWell Health Alliance.
