Following the integration, providers using Meditab’s Intelligent Medical Software EHR platform will be able to electronically complete prior authorization requests for certain prescriptions using CoverMyMeds’ platform.
“The idea behind this integration is not only to help save time and reduce cost for the providers, but for patients, pharmacies and insurance plans as well, creating better efficiencies for all involved,” said Sameer Sharma, a business analyst with Meditab.
CoverMyMeds is connected to 45,000 pharmacy locations. The platform also offers “retrospective PA requests,” which are requests for prior authorization that originate in the pharmacy’s EHR.
The integration is currently underway.
