Meadows Regional Medical Center is an existing MEDITECH customer, but Stephen Smesny, director of information services and HIPAA security officer at the hospital, said upgrading to the 6.1 platform will enable the hospital to better care for patients.

“We want to give our providers the tools they need to easily and effectively take care of patients. We need those tools to be fully integrated in order to streamline patient flow throughout the continuum of care,” he said in a statement.

Meadows Regional Medical Center will also adopt MEDITECH’s critical care, web ambulatory, surgical services and business and clinical analytics platforms to its EHR in September.
