Formerly confined to analyzing data within their individual domains, Mayo Clinic Platform_Connect now facilitates the secure examination of de-identified patient data from both Mercy and Mayo Clinic, according to a May 16 news release from Mayo Clinic.
This expanded data pool allows researchers and innovators to pinpoint risk factors, anticipate illnesses and administer timelier interventions. Importantly, each participating entity within Mayo Clinic Platform_Connect maintains control over the outcomes of its de-identified data.
This collaboration, according to the release, will allow Mayo and Mercy to craft tailored products, algorithms and tools finely attuned to the needs of their respective healthcare ecosystems, with the potential for widespread adoption globally.
