Boston-based Mass General Brigham has restored normal operations after a digital disruption caused some computers and other devices across the health system to go offline Oct. 8.

The disruption began around noon and affected some elective outpatient procedures, a spokesperson for the health system told Becker’s in an emailed statement. This was not a cyberattack, according to Mass General Brigham.

The health system said patient care continued during the disruption.

“All sites have brought systems back online and returned to normal operations,” the spokesperson said.

The statement did not specify what caused the disruption, how many devices were affected or how many outpatient procedures were impacted.
