In a statement on the protest’s website, organizer Jack Posobiec wrote the event would be delayed, following “credible threats from known Alt Left terrorist groups.”
“In one instance, an Alt Left threat was made to use an automobile to drive into our peaceful march,” he wrote. The Hill, which referred to Mr. Posobiec as a “alt-right social media personality,” noted the comment mirrors Saturday’s attack in Charlottesville, Va.
The march “condemns and disavows” violence, hatred and bigotry as well as all groups associated with such, including White Nationalists, Ku Klux Klan, Antifa and NeoNazis, reads a code of conduct statement on the protest’s website.
“We hope to hold our peaceful march in a few weeks’ time,” Mr. Posobiec wrote.
