The drive contains limited patient information related to lab testing, such as patient names, laboratory testing codes and slide identification numbers. The drive did not include Social Security numbers, addresses or dates of birth.
The hospital notified patients of the data breach via a press release Aug. 7, and began to send letters to affected patients. The hospital has no reason to suspect the information on the drive has been used.
