Interim CEO Curtis Solsvig, also a director at consulting firm Goldin Associates, informed employees July 10 about the layoffs. Around 114 positions of a total 229 worldwide were affected. This included 42 U.S. jobs and 72 in Latin America, a person close with the matter told WSJ.
High-ranking operational executives were included in the layoffs, including uBiome’s COO Nat Walton, former employees told WSJ. The company’s lab director Susan Zneimer was laid off along with all three employees who worked at the new lab in Vancouver, Wash., former employees confirmed.
UBiome will not close its San Francisco lab; however, it is unclear who will serve as the lab’s director.
